China wants a dated plan that matches your flights and hotel bookings city by city. This is the document most often sent back, and everything else is checked against it, so it is worth writing before you book anything.
The consulate expects confirmed reservations covering the whole stay, not provisional holds. Book somewhere that issues a direct confirmation you can print.

Fingerprints waived for short-stay Chinese visa applications until 31 December 2026
China has extended and widened its fingerprint exemption: applicants for short-term visas whose intended stay is 180 days or less are exempt from fingerprint collection through 31 December 2026, and the exemption now covers multiple-entry visas as well as single and double entry. It does not extend to categories that lead to a residence permit — D, J1, Q1, S1, X1 and Z. The Chinese Consulate-General in Lagos published its notice on 29 May 2026. The waiver removes the biometric step, not necessarily the requirement to lodge in person, so confirm with your visa application service centre before planning the trip to it.
